Since 2015 Google has partnered with humanitarian organizations providing relief and support for the refugee crisis. Google identifies nonprofits that are already making an impact through radical innovation, and helps extend their reach with funding, tools, and volunteers.
Through these partnerships, Google ensures:
refugees - and the organizations who work in their service - receive direct support to overcome some of their biggest barriers, like access to information and education
the global community has access to accurate and authentic information about the crisis
For World Refugee Day 2017, I led the development of two films highlighting the impact of our ongoing work with The International Rescue Committee and NetHope, and launched them via the Google blog.
Additionally, I embedded with NetHope in Thessaloniki, Greece to document their installation of wifi in refugee camps. My stories are captured on the NetHope blog.
